Would you like to improve the health and fitness levels of the pupils in your school? Would you like your school to be able to offer a broader range of physical activities, both within the curriculum and beyond, to increase participation levels? Or would you like some different ideas of how to spend your PE and Sport funding, and of how to measure the impact of what you have spent? We can help!

With over 25 years of primary school teaching experience, we offer Mud and miles running and orienteering in primary schools, all designed to support the provision of a high quality PE and sport experience for all pupils.

Mud and miles can support schools with:

  • improving the planning for, teaching and learning of running skills and techniques within the PE curriculum for KS1 and KS2, and the Physical Development curriculum for EYFS
  • introducing orienteering to the PE (and geography) curriculum, or as an extra-curricular activity
  • establishing and delivering extra-curricular running clubs for pupils
  • providing coaching for specific running events for groups of pupils, for example cross-country
  • establishing and delivering extra-curricular family fitness programmes based on running or orienteering
  • introducing whole-school, long-term fitness initiatives, for example the 'Daily Mile'
  • planning and delivering one-off running or orienteering based events, such as a 'whole school marathon' or orienteering day
  • leading 'running for fitness' groups for staff or parents

Mud and Miles can also provide other support with the development of running and orienteering - please contact us if you have a particular request.

Services can be provided face-to-face for schools in the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire border area; for schools further afield, services can be provided face-to-face with an additional charge for transport. Some services can also be provided remotely via phone, email or Skype.
